FREE Spelling Practice – Battleship

Free Spelling Practice – Looking for a way to spice up your spelling routine this year? Look no further!

I don’t know about you but I’m always looking for new spelling practice. For older students they take less pride in rote practice and need some fun and creative ways! Enter spelling battleship! Just like the old game – add in words, grab a partner and go to town!

Bonus- if you are studying coordinates this works double duty!

*BONUS* A great way to modify this free spelling practice is to slide the sheets into sheet protectors and use skinny dry erase markers – then you don’t have to worry about copies over and over again!

Just like the classic game print and fill in words then ask away.  So easy but I’m looking forward to using this game a couple different ways in my room next year.
Vocab words
spelling words
review words ….the possibilities are endless!

My students love this included as an option for spelling and I find more engagement when they are working on something they enjoy.

I tried it out playing with the hubby and we had quite the time.  It was fun to go back to an old favorite and we both agreed that it would be a great addition as free spelling practice this year!

I love incorporating games into learning. Review games (the best of the best!) are great ways to get students engaged in learning!

I made the board pretty big so most words would fit.  Make sure to agree on the list before you play.
