Amazon new teacher wish list – your first year teacher supply list

so maybe you are a new teacher or a student teacher or a teacher that has a student teacher. This guides takes all the best new teacher supplies or student teacher gifts and compiles them in one place.

I’ve been there! The first year as a teacher can be scary or even preparing as a student teacher can be tricky because your own classroom is a BIG DEAL! You want to feel prepared, comforting (your space and yourself!), and ready.

If you’re ever wondering which are on sale – RIGHT NOW. Head over to Teacher Flair Pens Page to see deals you can snag ASAP! These are ALWAYS a great idea for teachers!

I remember being overwhelmed at my space or even preparing and getting ready as a student teacher before I could get in a space. Having all the new teacher supplies or best student teaching gifts is a great start! (not replacement for ready….but comforting for sure). I only share my tried and true ideas along with some others that would have been SO HELPFUL!

What supplies does a First Year Teacher Need?

As someone who has been there….let’s dig right in. Let me emphasize if you are looking for gifts for student teachers all these can double as they are perfect for that as well!

First up let’s talk ESSENTIALS for the new teacher…not new classroom yet but brand new student teacher or first year teacher.

A personal laminator is an absolute treasure any new teacher NEEDS!

I have this exact one and it’s going on 7+ years. It’s great for home or classroom and is small and easy to store! Could not recommend this enough!

A requirement for ANY classroom. This pencil sharpener is the highly talked about (and well so!) the envy of all other sharpeners.

With a reputation like this, it can fit in any first year teacher classroom!

Post it Note Dispenser is a staple as beginning teacher supply or add on for amazon teacher wish list!

Must be POP UP! Makes for quick note grabbing from a desk or table. Speaking from experience this is a lifesaver!

Cannot go wrong with NEW PENS! Flairs are always a hit. I’ve even done a Best Pens for Teachers post and they ALWAYS win out.

Teacher Planners are a great student teacher gift or for your first year in the classroom!

Organization is key and lays the foundation of a smooth flowing classroom as a new teacher that is oh so important!

If you get one book for a beginning teacher or if you are a new teacher – THIS. IS. IT!

I’ll go against the grain and put this as my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE book for new teachers! It has everything you need and I loved the style of writing and how easily it could be applied!

Honorable Mentions for a New Teacher Supply List

Sticky Tack is is ALWAYS a good idea!

Containers (especially filled with books!!!) are another rockstar student teacher gift!

Not to be underrated! This bad boy for bulletin boards, packets, artwork and more will come in so handy for any amazon teacher list.

Pencil Parking Chart is a super great management tool!

A 3 hole punch is Great to have as a new teacher in your classroom! Must have new teacher Amazon supply!

Sharpies are another new teacher Amazon list item! Anchor charts, grading, group work, art projects. They come in so handy!

How do parents or anyone donating where to ship items?

    • Amber Ernst on June 29, 2021 at 5:00 pm

great question – if you click “manage list” you can have an address that only shows up as “_______ Wish List Address” (they can’t actually see the address you put) but still items get shipped there. I just ordered some off some teacher’s list today actually so I can verify addresses won’t be shared but you must have one included for it to function that way!

Hi, Debra! I am a first year, first grade teacher! This is very exciting news for me! It’s so wonderful to hear that you are willing to help a new teacher since I am one. 😀 If you want to, I attached my wishlist below that you can browse through and see if there’s anything you are able to help me with to build a safe, welcoming classroom environment for my students. 🙂 Thank you, thank you, and thank you! 😀

    Hi there!

I am hoping to provide as many brand new school supplies to students one the first day of school as many either do not have any or are using whatever they can find. Many items on my list are also to help improve the quality of learning for my students (updated and diverse books, learning analog clocks, protractors). My students are extremely grateful for every little bit gifted to our classroom.

I have the most wonderful job of teaching Robotics and technology. This is actually my 5th year and my list is not traditional but still in great need. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
