I love all the ideas, I’m going to apply some that suit for my kiddos. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing your great ideas.
I love this. Great information. I will most definitely use some of these if not all this year. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for the first week lesson plan. I will use it as a guide to plan for my 5th/6th combo class. I love the community you are creating in your plan.
Exactly! First weeks back to school are always crazy but add in distance learning and wow! Having a little guidance helps – building community is SO IMPORTANT!
Awesome material! Hope everyone has a positive school year.
I love how the virtual lesson plan takes things slow. You don’t want to overwhelm students and parents.
Yes! Back to school (especially this year) with distance learning is such an overwhelming time for students and families. Taking it slow can help ease that!
After student introductions last year, I created a class Kahoot based on what they said about themselves. We played it numerous times during the year as they enjoyed it so much. I kept the Kahoot private so no personal information was available online.
I love this community building Kahoot idea Angela! Thanks for sharing . Your students are lucky to have such a thoughtful teacher!
Great ideas! Thank you.
Love the organization!
Great ideas, thanks!
I love the virtual Meet the Teacher Night ideas. They are helpful and will come in handy.
Thank you for the calendar for getting started.
First day is going to look so different this year! Since we are starting remotely I would like to show our classroom, but even our room won’t look the same. 🙁 I am really going to work hard on building class community virtually.
Showing your classroom as a first day back to school for distance learning is such an awesome idea! recording ahead or filming from your room would give students a real “feel” for you and what it would be like when they come back in person!
Thank you for the ideas! With so many unknowns, it’s good to have something to work with to get ideas going.
Thanks for the tips! We’re going back in person (for now) but I would be we will be transitioning back to distance learning eventually. This will be a tough year no matter what!
Yes – bookmark for when you do return to in person learning!
No matter how much we WANT the old normal, this is now our reality. Thanks for the ideas for making students’ transitions to a new year a bit easier.
Thank you for providing a Lesson Plan template that I can use during the first weeks of school!!
Raven – I’m thrilled to give at least a semblance or structure or use for those starting to plan distance learning!
I love anything that helps me teach the class rules!
I love these ideas! It is similar to how I have started the year in the classroom, but like how they are adapted for a virtual experience.
Thank you for sharing your lesson plans… just not sure if I’m “techy” enough 😂
I love the calendar and how to break down distance learning into chunks. I like to start off the year with a Me Bag, where students showcase themselves with 3-5 items. Now with remote learning, I like the student showcase to continue my tradition and learning about my students.
love the virtual dance party idea, and LOVE planning for class community!
Love all of the Distance Learning Engagement ideas! I already printed the chart to keep it handy when I’m planning out virtual meetings!
Thank you for the calendar of easy strategies for distance learning.
I definitely think it is important to break up going over classroom rules and expectations over a few days. Thank you for sharing some calendars that will help keep us on track at the beginning of the school year.
Thank you for sharing your ideas! I like how you break up the rules/procedures- we don’t need information overload!
These are great! Takes some of the stress off when planning for the start of school. Thank you!
School will look and feel so different this year, as we have completely shifted to remote learning! Although not required, teachers are recommended to teach in school because of the more stable internet connection. We’re truly working harder than ever.. 🙁 So, thank you for these great ideas!
I LOVE the calendar! Can’t wait to adapt it for my own classroom! Thank you so much!
Thank you for the lesson plan ideas. I agree it is really hard to keep students engaged virtually and it is important to keep activities short and switch them up.
Thank you for all the ideas!! We’re still up in the air as to face to face or virtual.
Great Ideas!
This will help with planning my first day and first week activities. I really like the idea of spreading the student introductions out during the week.
Thanks for all these great ideas! I love how all the activities are broken down in a schedule.
Great ideas and terrific resources! Thank you!
Kim H.
Thank you for all the great ideas!
Thank you for all the great ideas!!
I am going to use these a lot this year. Thank you for spending time creating them.
Will definitely use your fabulous ideas!
Love the get to know you activity. I’m going to have my students make posters because they don’t know the technology to make slides yet. They will present over zoom. This is going to be hard but here we go!
These are going to be so helpful to me as we go into this unknown! Thank you!
Great ideas. Thank you.
Thanks for all your hard work!!
Great Ideas, plenty of good resources
Thank you for these plans!!
Thanks for the virtual First Day of School ideas. It will be more important than ever to build community.
I was planning on doing a virtual meet the teacher event – thanks for the tips!
Thank you for all this hardwork. It really helps to see how others are doing things and share ideas.
Thanks for sharing this well-organized resource!
I love your lesson plans. I will definitely break my instruction into small bites. Unfortunately our Kinders and Firsties are expected to engage in 6 and a 1/2 hours of online instruction daily.
