What Back to School Ideas work for Distance Learning?

You might be wondering what Back to School 2020 will even look like (don’t we all….unless…you’re reading this closer to school starting then you might already know).

I think your best bet is to plan for activities that translate from in person to distance learning and can work in both environments. No it’s not what we signed up for as teachers BUT I know teachers have extreme dedication if you’re anything like me and we can make this easier by searching out and finding great resources that do just that!

What’s a 2020 Back To School Activity that works?

Specifically – I love a technology activity that you can project (Smartboard or Virtual)!

This Emoji Bubble Pop (editable even!!) is perfect for back to school 2020 to do just that!

First option – Put on Smartboard and students can come up and “pop” for a fun get to know you question. Easy to customize with your own questions as well. Hit the “teacher” icon to return to the main screen.

Second option – Share this from a teacher screen on Google Meet/Hangout/Zoom or another platform. It’s a Google Slides file so any that work to share screen would do!

I would only have teacher share and students say which one to pick as it wouldn’t work with students able to pick their own all at the same time.
