Crafting Connections: Hosting a White Light Card Making Event for Women’s Groups
Hey there! If you’re a woman seeking a unique and meaningful way to connect with others while diving into your own journey of self-discovery, we’ve got something special for you. Picture this: hosting a White Light card making event for your women’s group, where crafting and connection come together in a beautiful blend. In this blog post, we’ll walk you through the ins and outs of planning and hosting an unforgettable gathering that celebrates creativity, friendship, and the transformative power of the White Light book.

Embracing the White Light Philosophy
Let’s start by diving into the heart of White Light. It’s all about embracing your gifts, finding your purpose beyond the roles of wife, mom, or professional, and navigating the twists and turns of life with authenticity. And guess what? Crafts play a major role in this journey. They help you uncover hidden insights, ignite your creativity, and forge meaningful connections with fellow women who are on a similar path.
Planning Your White Light Card Making Event
Now, let’s get to the exciting part: planning your very own White Light card making event. (*remember Templates come with the book BUT you can always peruse online to find others that would be great for your event!
What makes a White Light event different?!
- We all have gifts and we see each other SHINE!
- low entry engagement! Don’t feel crafty? Just watch! I always start with something super easy but that can be done alongside others to help conversation flow and build connection!
- start off easy! Don’t dive into heavy topics right away especially if the group is new. Plan time to build foundational relationship elements before moving to other content.
- Food is EASY! Women are usually responsible for food so planning ahead and making sure no extra requirement is on those that are coming. Just BE!
Pick a cozy date and location where your women’s group can gather and let their creative spirits soar. Gather up supplies like cardstock, markers, and sparkly embellishments – anything that makes your heart skip a beat. Oh, and don’t forget to mention the special treat – free White Light bookmarks that your guests can get their hands on!

The bookmarks are a great way just BE together! Coloring side by side, checking out the verses, they are great to leave out for Bible study and color while listening. They are great to add to gifts for others.
Laser Printed Foil Cards
I made designs in Canva, laser printed them (only laser ink works with heat of laminator inkjet printers do not work) and we used foil on top to run them through a laminator! It was a low entry point craft anyone can partake and gave us cards to send to shut ins, birthdays, holidays and more!
Here’s a quick video with our process:

Here are some of our finished designs. You can see the foil enhances and really shows up in the light! I love keeping these on hand and they take no time to make! It was great to do this with our ladies’ church group.

Crafting Connections That Last
During the event, you can start with prompts from the book. You know your group best and the goal may be to learn about each other, dive deep into faith or somewhere in between.
As you all craft beautiful cards, keep reminding yourselves that this isn’t just about pretty designs – it’s about the power of self-expression, vulnerability, and building unbreakable bonds. The cards can become outreach from your group as well!
