LOOK – how to display student work all year the easy way

Displaying student work is a great routine to establish at the beginning of the year that can make your year go SO SMOOTH! (read about some other great routines to set Day 1)
Choose great paper for student work display!
I really like using 12×12 paper for this display. I can hang work but easily still have color show through (here is my fave!) If you just use clips on a bulletin board that works too but I love the bold pop to signify how important student work is!
3. change every 6 months or year (shocker!) and keep for portfolios!
– reference grammar craftivities
How to attach your student work!
You have a couple different options depending on what your surface is:
Choose what will best work for your display – as you can see mine was just a cinder block wall and hot glue worked wonders and was easy to take down at the end of the year (although – I did end up leaving this up for multiple years and just added extra paper for larger classes!)
Display-worthy Work and Rotating Student Work
Having a student work display hinges on work to display – makes sense right?! One of favorite ways to spice up grammar was with crafts and activities. Grammar can be SO dry but laughter made all the difference!
Below is our display with the Poultry Parts of Speech!
So you can see that was around November and all we did was just add projects on top of one another. I normally displayed my Grammar Activities (there are all bundled here to make it easy for you!)
Rotating the display only happened once or twice a year. Christmas break was a good reminder! It was also so easy to keep up to reference for parent teacher conferences, end of year accomplishments, BIG projects, and so much more!
I love to display student work in a way that is easy to manage. Students literally viewed as a portfolio of work and made it easier to collect as they knew when all these went home it was ones they would keep vs. a collection of everyday papers!
This was EASY and no stress as I do not change bulletin boards! I just don’t! I keep the same ones up all year and we build on them as a class or use anchor charts but I shy away from seasonal because it can be tough to change constantly!
