Dedicate a time each day to read aloud a chapter book to the class.
Our favorite time was after recess as was a time to doodle, decompress, and just listen it drew our focus back to class and time to work.
Another idea to introduce books is to dedicate a day like “First Chapter Friday” and on Friday the teacher reads just the first chapter of a new book then back to regular read aloud.
It brings up student engagement and gets them excited for other books in your classroom library!

This book combines so many concepts but is set in a rainy dreary mountain town. The paintings are taken from the national gallery and stored in the mountain which brings life to the school in town who gets to view and see the paintings.
They change lots of people in town.
The best part is we viewed the paintings as we went along (just like in the book) and got so much art knowledge as well.
Every student loved this read aloud! I could not rave more about Framed. There is a BBC movie that is adapted from the book that we watched as well!
