I created these books to help my class learn the different types of traditional literature before diving in the genre! This 5 tab book contains a cover page, organizer showing the 5 types and a unique page for each type with a QR code (or 2!). Guided reading concepts – compare/contrast, story elements and more are included to help dive deep into literature.
The QR code is linked to a video playing an example of each type of folktale. This can help students who have not heard them before or need a refresher. The activities and practice on each page help students get acquainted the material and differentiate the types of folktales.
Your students will love this book and it is great to keep as part of an interactive notebook or just as a reference when studying this genre.

This has been one of my favorite resources to aid in my teaching of Traditional Literature. My students enjoyed being able to watch the videos on each type. They were engaged and I saw great work. I also really like how you include comparing and contrasting, story elements, and character traits. Very easy to use and implement during my Guided Reading block.
